Bethan Jones

Bethan is a Senior Communications Officer in IISD’s Energy Program. She manages the Just Energy Transition in Coal Regions Knowledge Hub, a stand-alone platform designed to facilitate knowledge sharing and creative exchange between governments, civil society organizations, and coal-dependent communities as they work toward a low-carbon energy system. Project partners include the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, the Climate Action Network, the International Labour Organization, and the International Trade Union Confederation, with the aim to support just energy transitions in coal regions.

Bethan brings over 12 years of experience as a digital strategist, copywriter, and editor at flagship cultural platforms in Berlin and London, with particular expertise in storytelling, brand building, and engagement. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Lancaster University and draws on both her scientific and creative backgrounds to reach diverse audiences.
